In 1983 the album Porcupine remained marked by winter cold despite the participation of violinist L. Shankar. Porcupine reached number two on the UK Albums Chart. In the spring of 1984, Ocean Rain was released, which received negative reviews from the NME and the American Rolling Stone but was praised by other English music magazines. The album has since become a reference, notably the title The Killing Moon. Influenced by the string arrangements of the Beatles, the group then covered. In 1985, Echo and the Bunnymen had a little trouble creating a follow-up to their discography. The group recorded the title Bring on the Dancing Horses which was included in the compilation Songs to Learn and Sing.
